Snow cancellation
Today is my last Sunday at Bethel Baptist Church. As much as i would love to see everyone, I would feel terrible if they injured themselves or damaged vehicles, battling the snow to come to church. So all services are cancelled today. Two deacons have already reminded me that on the weekend that I interviewed with the pastor search committee, it snowed so much that I had to spend the night at a deacon's house. And the weekend that I leave, it snows like this. How fitting. I will miss everyone at Bethel, but will definitely stay in touch. Yesterday's exchange of vows was beautiful--we will post pictures soon. Please pray for Christina and me as we finish packing and prepare for the move, which will be on Tuesday. Many blessings.

Our Pastor is Such a Chicken!
The children at Bethel challenged the members to donate 50 shoeboxes to Samaritan's Purse. If the church could donate that many boxes, Pastor Greg agreed to dress like a chicken, announce the end of Sunday school by going through the hallways clucking.
Challenge accepted!
Look what happened!
Thanks to everyone at Bethel who made history, and thanks to our kids for this amazing challenge.

Homecoming and Revival Services
What a wonderful time we had, October 17-20! On the morning of October 17, Rev. Bill LaWall preached our Homecoming service, and we had a meal following worship. Then, the evenings of October 17-24, Rev. Anthony Clore led us in worship and brought the message each night. Still walking on clouds from our week of revival!

Ordination to the Deacon Ministry
On October 30, Bethel was pleased to ordain Sarah Crump and Brandy DeGraw to the deacon ministry. We pray God's blessings on them as they receive this mantle of servant-leadership.

Harvest Day
The Bethel community really came out to help our church this past weekend! Thank you to all who made Harvest Day possible, through donations, purchases, volunteering, lots of eating, and lots of fun! You helped raise over $3,000 toward the repair of water damage to the church's foundation. What a blessing this community is!

Church Yard Sale
Special thanks to all who made our church yard sale this past Saturday a success! Many donated items, worked sales, made breakfast, and had their own yard sales in the parking lot to draw a crowd. It couldn't have been done without the hard work of so many people!
Baptism Sunday
At Bethel, we are excited when people publicly express their faith in Jesus by entering the waters of baptism. On May 6, Bobby Burton did just that--we are so proud of him!

Fund Raiser for Brice Burton & Family - April 20, 5-8pm
Brice came to Bethel Church as a little boy to our children’s activities, VBS, etc. His dad, Shane, grew up in Bethel Church. Shane now attends Scottsburg Baptist, which is his wife’s home church.
As a church, we want to reach out and show the love of Christ to Shane and family as they are watching their son fight to get back to his life. We will hold a spaghetti fund raiser here on Friday, April 20 from 5 - 8. We ask that you help sell tickets. We also ask that you help by donating items needed to make this a successful fund raiser. There is a list of items that are needed on the bulletin board. Please put your name by the item and list the number of those items you are able to donate.
Also, when selling tickets, each book of tickets has 10 tickets. If someone tells you they are going to pay at the door, please do not give them a ticket; only give a ticket to someone who is paying at that time.
The meal will be $7 for adults; $3 for children 12 and under. The meal will consist of: spaghetti, salad, roll, drink and dessert. You can dine in or take out. You can see Darlene or Jane to get a book of tickets.
